Since you probably don't give a shit about the first part of the blog title, I'll just go skip that shit and go right the fuck on to the second part. Here's the oh-so-telling promo poster for Season 5 of SoA
And here's the oh-so-telling promotional video for Season 5 of SoA
To be honest, seeing Jax fall of the bridge made me smirk something fierce, because while Jaxhole might have bitched about Clay's way of running things in the past, this video shows that His Holeyness is probably going to fuck a few things up too. It just goes to show ya that there's no right way to run an outlaw motorcycle club. I hope that the difficulties of leadership humble Jax, and that he grows up and stops being such a hot-headed douchebag.
There has been some discussion in the forum about Gemma jumping in front of him and that caused him to fall, and that too is very interesting. When you think about it, Gemma is the cause of most of Jax's "falls".
For as long as this show has aired, I have always been always baffled by Gemma being so hell-bent on keeping her one remaining son so close to such a dangerous environment as an outlaw motorcycle club. What's more, over the years it seems that she's been pretty keen on keeping him in the club despite the overwhelming odds of Jax either getting killed or becoming someone's girlfriend in prison (he'd so be the girl in a cell block romance). It just seems strange that a woman who watched her youngest childe die at a very young age would want such a life for the kid she's got left. If the other kid hadn't died she would have probably encouraged him to join the club too. That's pretty fucked up and there has got to be something seriously wrong with Gemma.
Most women who are fans of this show admire Gemma because they think that she is the epitome of strength and power. To a certain extent, she can be quite powerful, no doubt about that, but I don't see any kind of strength in her. If she had strength in her she wouldn't depend so much on a club and she woudln't have been with a man like Clay. Everyone was shocked to see Clay beat the living shit out of her in "Hands" because they had never seen the uglier side of the "Clemma" relationship before. When I saw that, I got the feeling Clay hitting Gemma was not a new thing, but this was the first time that he had taken it so far. Now that Clay and Gemma are all but finishted, I would very much like to see the dynamic between them.
I started writing this post on Friday of last week, and since then we've gotten a start date for season 5: September 11th. Remember that, you silly fuckers. For me, the fall season of TV couldn't come sooner. I'm bored out of my fucking mind. I'm reading a lot, hence the first part of the title of this post, and I'm trying to read the bigger ones that take forever. If any of you have something to recommend, I'm open to it (except Shades of Gray). I love fantasy books. If you know a good one let me know somehow.
In other recent news shit, the entire cast (and the cast of a whole bunch of other shows too) are all at Comic Con. You can probably access up-to-the-minute coverage of that shit on some of the Facebook groups. My take on that shit? Oh yay, they all get to go on vacation somewhere, to whatever fucking place that Comic Con shit is at and they're having fun. Lucky them. I ain't been anywhere this summer.
